Gladys Davis Lammon was a "modern career" lady in the 20s and taught herself to type and worked for an insurance company. She had lost her mother at the age of 18 and her father was very supportive of her efforts to improve herself. She moved with her daughter to Nicaragua one of the times Allen was down there, and lived there about a year. During WWI I she worked in civil service at Brookley AF Base retiring in the mid-1960s as a GS 10. After retirement she did a lot of volunteer work and church work.
