Snails have been enjoyed as a culinary delicacy since ancient times. At one time or another they have been extremely popular in different parts of Europe. Snails have graced the cuisines of France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, and England, and the custom of eating snails eventually made its way to the United States.

Escargot
My first taste of escargot in Paris, France. What is it like? The texture is like eating a canned whole mushroom as you are chewing. The taste was heavily masked by the green parsley butter and spices that were put in there. I can't imagine craving these but, I am glad I tried them just to say that I did. You only live once.
